1 John 5:20
May 29, 2010
"We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." 1 John 5:20

The Full Armor of G-d
May 28, 2010
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of G-d so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of G-d, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of G-d. -Ephesians 6:10-17
I've been reading the LampLighter book, Sir Knight of the Splendid Way lately, and these were the verses at the beginning of the first chapter. Constant, the knight, does struggle against somethings much more fierce than only battles- in one, he defeats a knight, only to find that this knight is a powerful "black" knight, exactly opposite of the King's splendid way. {I'll be posting more on this book later} Anyhow, just a small reminder to pray that G-d would arm you each and every day with His power.

Just to Say...
May 21, 2010
I was at CBS yesterday for the whole day, which has been the first day in a long time, because Shakespeare is normally on Thursday afternoons. And it stop to make me think: Ooohh! I love my girlfriends! They're the greatest- people who listen to you, talk to you, love you for who you are, give you opinions, love you, encourage you, build you up, love you even on your crazy days, be themselves with you, laugh with you, bring out the best in you, pray with you... the list could go on! (And did I even mention love you? Oh, yes. I did- several times! Wow, that wasn't even on purpose!) SO--- to all my wonderful friends out there, thank you for caring for me, and loving me!
I have a heart-to-heart relationship with only a few friends, and one of them is Jesus- who is my all-time best friend- the best listener, helper, the most loving, and the One who will continally accept me.

Beginnings
May 19, 2010
Today... was the dreaded day. My Omnibus class finished for the year~! It was an emotional moment when Mrs. Baker put up a cartoon of a man sobbing and waving a hankie, with the thought bubble "Hmmm. If I give them an F on their final, they can come back next year!" Everyone was putting sad faces in the chatbox, and 'sobbing.'
I guess here, I really have to give someone (I can't say who, because I've heard countless people say it) the credit for the saying, "The end of one thing is only the beginning of another." Aha! Was it Anne of Green Gables lore? It's a butterfly moment! Butterfly moments are not when I get nervous, it's when I am sad, a bittersweet moment. Because butterflies have to go through their changes. I'm looking forward to summer, and everything else on the list, but Omnibus is just one of those daily rituals! Augh!
Anyhow, I will be looking for ya'll next year! Have a wonderful summer! G-d bless !

"G-d's Timing is Right" -Mom
May 12, 2010
Today we got to go to park day- a day where a bunch of homeschoolers get together and play games, chat, and just have fun. Alexandrea and I were so excited, because we haven’t been in ages. When we arrived, I saw one of my best friends, Carrie, whom I haven’t seen in ages… and guess what she told me? To Hannah she said, “She didn’t even know, and she came today!” “Know what?” And then she told me, “I’m moving back to Pennsylvania.” Utter shock. And to think that we came today of all days (it’s going to be their last time there). My mom said, “G-d’s timing is right.” And you know, it is- we could have gone next week and found they’d already gone. We could have gone last week, and not this week, and not known! Isn’t it wild? I’ll miss her so much, but it’s simply an adventure. So this post is for you, Carrie- I’ll miss you sooo much, but I know G-d’s timing is right. I’m so glad I got to know you as a sister, and as a friend! Love, Sierra"We laughed out loud till we cried
And the tears were sweet
Midnight melted to morning
A moment faded to memory
All these days just slip away through our fingers
So... Don't let go
Hold onto every moment
Always know
Hold on to every moment that You can"

Puck verses Robin the Hood
For Omnibus I recently had to write a comparison of two differing characters in the books read for either the primary or secondary sections. As I have spent the last several months studying Puck and A Midsummer Night's Dream, I chose him as one of my characters. And Robin Hood had been a child hood 'hero' of mine for ages and ages! Hence, the following poem- written in iambic pentameter, of course! It is written in heroic couplets, and has rhythym that Shakespeare used!
~Puck~
In wood of magic, beyond Athens gate,
A small, sly fairy had entwined some fate,
For four young lovers must needs run away;
By young imp in above wood must they stay.
In humans’ laugh, he caused pixies to run—
They say he knew all games under the sun.
“What is his name,” you ask? Puck, he replies.
Watch out for him, please; he wears much disguise.
To some-- but some-- does bring laughter and joy:
Like Oberon his king; he’s his jest boy.
To him a “sweet Puck,” to others a curse
But does he care? Ah, it could be much worse…
To fairies a horrid, naughty sprite;
That wanderer of night, that knavish sprite-
O, stay away from him, children, because
When you entice him, he’ll tease and guffaws!
~Robin Hood~
Ye old Robin Hood, a mighty green man;
Rather opposite of Puck’s mischief band!
And to be sure, Robin was quite a kind-
Give to the poor was the task of his mind.
Said the poor of him, “O, he is quite brave,”
Said the young prince, “Oh, him? A simple knave!”
However, Prince John was not at all pleased,
When gold was stolen, was highly displeased!
Robin of old; poor sang his praise in the
Gates; the Sheriff sniffed, and drank up his tea;
John always disliked Robin’s “funny” ways.
Believe me, those were not the good old days.
O, stay you steadfast, ye people of old
Till Richard come to his long- wasted home!

Flying Time!
Wow, can't believe it's May already:) April seriously went too fast this year- and even though May is one of my favorite months (I can't quite tell why~!), I feel almost a little sad at the time flying by already this year. Time is one of God's most precious gifts-use it to please Him!
Happy May!
